The venue’s new monthly series is called Carousel Club Burlesque and is inspired by the old Dallas troupe from the Carousel Club, once owned by Jack Ruby, the man who killed Lee Harvey Oswald. They all shared one thing, however: The vixens onstage had an eerily authentic air recalling burlesque’s heyday. One by one, burlesque dancers took their places under the spotlight, teasing the audience in an open-room peepshow, appealing to the strokes of all folks with the dancers’ varied sizes, ages and looks.
